Amen, You Reign

This song was inspired by the time we lay in bed, just reflecting on life, God's word, praying to the Holy Father. Many as a kid started out like this: "As I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord,
My soul to keep..."
Then I just kept writing from there:
Verse 1
Resting my eyes as I lay in bed
Running through all of the weight in my head
Did I stand, did I apply
Your word in every part of my life?
Is my life an offering to Him
Or just noise dressed up like a hymn?
A hollow sound I justify
While truth keeps knocking from inside
Pre-Chorus
Search my heart, expose the lie
Strip it down, no place to hide
Chorus
You died so I could live
Not for this world—but to proclaim Him
This truth I can't deny
You speak it over, over—open my eyes
Your grace is enough
Enough to rewrite my life
You made a way—it’s not a lie
Repent, believe in the work of Christ
This truth is alive
And it can save you too
Verse 2
Point me back into Your word
Through all the chaos, the crashing world
It pulls my eyes away from truth
But even blind—I’m fixed on You
Colossians speaks—I’m made alive
The old is buried, the new survives
My flesh is stripped, I walk renewed
By faith in One who made me new
My debt erased, my chains undone
Nailed to the cross—by the Holy One
That was the cost...
Pre-Chorus
Break me down, rebuild my sight
Lead me out of death to life
The vision of the song was the rock version:
I also have it as a rap/pop Duet:
